Terms of Service
Last updated: August 2026
Plain terms for a plain-spoken practice. Engaging Capital AI means you agree to what follows.
What Capital AI provides
Capital AI provides consulting, education, recommendations, implementation support, and related professional services regarding artificial intelligence tools and business systems. Services are delivered by Steven Reed under White 80 Ventures LLC.
What this is not
This is important, so it gets its own section. Capital AI provides technology and business consulting. It does not provide legal advice, tax advice, accounting or CPA services, audit services, financial or investment advice, or medical advice. Bookkeeping support means helping you set up and organize systems — it is not accounting, tax preparation, or attestation work. For matters requiring a licensed professional, engage one; I will tell you when that is the right call.
Engagements and payment
- Fixed-price services are payable in advance unless we agree otherwise in writing
- Larger engagements may be invoiced, with terms stated on the invoice
- Project work typically requires a deposit before work begins
- Prices listed on this site may change, but the price quoted for your engagement is the price you pay
Scheduling, rescheduling, and refunds
Sessions rescheduled with at least 24 hours notice are moved at no charge. No-shows and late cancellations may be treated as delivered.
For written deliverables such as the AI Direction Report, work begins as soon as your intake arrives, so refunds are not available once the deliverable has been sent. If you are genuinely unsatisfied with what you received, tell me — my stated goal is that you find the engagement worth it, and I would rather fix the work than keep money from an unhappy client. That is a commitment I take seriously, and it is handled case by case rather than by policy.
Your responsibilities
The quality of my recommendations depends on the accuracy of what you tell me. You are responsible for the information you provide, for decisions you make about your business, and for how you implement any recommendation. You are also responsible for ensuring that your use of any tool complies with the laws, regulations, and organizational policies that apply to you.
No guaranteed outcomes
I recommend tools, workflows, and approaches based on professional judgment and experience. I cannot guarantee specific business results, revenue increases, time savings, or that any third-party tool will perform as its vendor claims. AI tools in particular change frequently, can produce incorrect output, and may change pricing or terms without notice. Recommendations reflect the landscape at the time they are given.
Third-party tools
Engagements often involve third-party software. Those tools are governed by their own terms, pricing, and privacy policies, and their availability and behavior are outside my control. Subscription costs for recommended tools are your responsibility unless we agree otherwise in writing.
Confidentiality
I treat your business information as confidential, and I expect the same for proprietary methods, templates, and materials I share with you. Deliverables I create for you are yours to use within your business. Underlying frameworks, templates, and methods remain mine and may be reused with other clients.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, total liability for any claim arising from an engagement is limited to the amount you paid for that engagement. Neither party is liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including lost profits or lost data.
Ending an engagement
Either of us may end an ongoing engagement with reasonable notice. You are responsible for work performed up to that point. I reserve the right to decline or discontinue work that falls outside my competence, conflicts with an existing client, or that I judge to be unethical or unlawful — and I will say so directly rather than quietly underdeliver.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California. Disputes are subject to the courts of Sacramento County, California. Before any formal action, both parties agree to attempt to resolve the matter directly — a conversation solves most things.
Changes
These terms may be updated; the date at the top reflects the current version. The terms in effect when your engagement begins govern that engagement.
Anything here you want clarified before engaging? Ask. I would rather answer the question now than have it become a problem later.
